The Ruth Hughes Memorial District Library serves the residents of Imlay City, Imlay Township, and Attica Township.
The library provides a welcoming community space with meeting and quiet study rooms, computers, wi-fi access, and fax and copy services. A wide range of programming for all ages includes storytimes, crafting and seasonal events, presentations and speakers, computer classes, a summer reading club, and more. In addition to books, DVDs, and audiobooks on CD, the library also provides access to thousands of electronic books, comics, movies, music albums, and television shows available for download through its Overdrive and Hoopla digital collections.
The library's reading room is a pleasant place to browse newspapers and magazines or spend some time working on the community jigsaw puzzle, and the cozy children's area includes a train table, educational game computers, and lots of toys.
